to completely copy a popular feature on twitter, 'follow friday,' i have a short list of people/pages you should check out.
1. | fashion toast | if you haven't yet become acquainted with rumi neely's dreamy photography, feminine-but-rough-around-the-edges style, and sarcastic/quippy comments, you're really missing out. i like to think of this as a fashion/pop culture/nightlife blog. and i'm pretty much in love with it. even if you're not into that kind of content, it's still very visually dynamic and quite fun to look at.
2. | meganheartsmakeup | if you're looking for every-day makeup and fashion advice from a true southern belle, this is your one-stop-shop. megan is precious, endearing, and not 'totally-like-omg' annoying. i stumbled upon this youtube channel with lindsey a little over a year ago, and i'm still totally hooked. not only does this high-schooler give sound beauty and fashion advice (not to mention, product reviews, looks, tutorials, etc.), she also sets a very positive example and gives back to her community. i know you may be wondering, 'why is a 20-something year old girl taking beauty and fashion advice from a high-schooler?' just trust me on this one and give it a try. she is ultra-inspiring.
3. | coventry lane | my friend diane has just opened to the public her line of beautiful handmade clutches. whether you're doing a little retail therapy via the internet, or you're searching for the perfect gift for a friend of yours, visit her shop. you won't be disappointed. also, these things are selling like hot cakes, so don't miss out!
4. | influence | this is currently one of my very favorite blogs to read up on daily. the author is a darling, and she 'loves to blog about all the fun and whimsical things in life.' not to mention, the pictures she posts of her charming town are to die for, and make me want to move away to where there's snow. i found her site a few months ago and stop by there almost every day now - go check it out and read - you'll be inspired and charmed.
per my post yesterday, i really am excited about narrowing down the responsibilities in my life. i really do want to further develop my ability to put my everything into my projects and tasks. so, here's to simplicity!
rewards. i work really well on the rewards system. something about working toward a 'treat' inspires me like nearly nothing else. here are a few little things i may buy for myself as i accomplish some of my to-do's:
this weekend i really need to focus on finishing up my christmas shopping. i have definite direction on the people i need to buy for - i just need to get out there and do it.
my netflix should also be arriving soon -- bridget jones' diary -- which i have never seen (surprise, surprise). i'm intent on expanding my 'seen movies' list, as i have been given titles by my friends that they highly recommend.
